Default New stuff at Georgia State Parks...

Georgia State Parks has two new programs. The first is for RV'ers, and seems to benefit RV Clubs or other groups that would like to have 5 or more sites reserved together. There are other deals in the works as well. Membership in the Georgia Park RV Club is free.

The other is a package deal for the first time camper, which includes site rental, tent, stove, chairs, other gear (All from REI, so it's likely good stuff) and the hosts will even help you set it all up.

So, now you can bring a friend or two to a Georgia State Park, even if they are the rawest of newbies!

Well, camping in the raw with a Newbie friend does sound like fun. Those Georgians are really with it.

Alas I do not think they would accept me as a 1st time camper ....

If you like Georgia and do not mind paying private park rates.. near Darian about 3 miles off I-95 (Away from Darian) you will find a park called Cathead Creek Ranch RV park.

To be honest it's a new park, not much shade, no swimming pool, but good 50 amp mostly pull through full hookup including cable tv sites.

AND A COWBOY CHURCH on site. That, in and of itself, is worth the trip.
