Talking Another Newbie From Texas

Howdy y'all! My wife and I are both SKYWARN tornado chasing hams from Texas. We have been weather enthusiasts for about 8 years and hams for about two years. We considered full-time RVing several years ago but decidedit wasn't the right time. Our son is grown now. And we decided last week to take the full-time plunge. We have sold most everything we own and we gave the landlord his 30 day notice. We struck a deal on a pristine 33' 1988 class A Southwind with 29k miles and only 260 hours on the 6500 Watt Onan for $8000! We will be moving in at the end of October. I work for the government (TSA) and I hope to find a federal job at Colorado Springs soon. I can't wait to start installing radio gear in our new home, and I am hoping to get some installation ideas here at this site.

Welcome Chris and Terra, good to have some new blood in the group.

Good deal on the fulltiming, we're relatively new at it and enjoying life as it comes.

We are at a COE campground in Belton,Tx.

Hope your RV is built like a tank for your safety.

Well, the RV is probably built like any other RV...thin sheet metal and 2x2 lumber! Fortunately, if there is severe weather nearby, we most likely will be in our chase vehicle and not in the RV, and contrary to popular belief, we feel muuuuch safer in our vehicle.

Well then, maybe you're some of the pros with a suitable vehicle for the sport and making those videos that are exciting to watch. Nevertheless, be careful the forces of mother nature will often exceed the best preparations of man.
