2M mount for Class C Mercedes Chassis

We just recently downsized from a 38' Diesel Pusher to a 24' Class C (Forest River Solera - built on Mercedes Chassis). We had used a through glass mount on the pusher, as there was no convenient other mount. The through glass mount was mounted on top middle windshield - results were acceptable but not great. Portable shack is Icon 706, and I'll find a place to mount the screwdriver somewhere. I'd like to mount the 2M whip somewhere on the hood with a metal/metal connection for better ground plane, but the hood is steeply angled two directions. Can anyone recommend a NMO mount. I've looked at a mount from comet but have no idea what the specs are for loss, etc. - it comes with a short thin coax to make it easier to connect inside the hood.
