Default Dauphin Island beckons, again!

We will return to Dauphin Island (Mobile Bay, AL) again this year -- and I'm taking the HF rig and plan to put Dauphin on the air again. This time we have asked for a spot NOT under one of those huge white oak trees. Lovely to look at but not too great for propagation, I don't think.

Taking the TW-2010 again, and might play with a 40 meter dipole if I can figure out a way to string it up.

We'll be near the island hunter frequencies, 14.260 MHz.

Spent the week getting the trailer back in shape. I got laid off in April, Sweet Wife got the axe in July, so we basically mothballed the camper and stripped out all the perishable supplies. Now we have loaded all that back in again, gave it a bit of a bath and we're ready to go!

Glad we never had to winterize it. Might have to when we get back.

So if you want a lovely QSL card like this one, you gotta work me on Dauphin. Some of you already have this highly prized and collectible card!

And I'd look at those oak trees as "wire" holders !

Campground rules prohibit use of trees as antenna supports. You can't tie off anything to a tree.

Hope 40 will work for you Wade. You were too close to me for 20 meters last time. I would be better off working you on 2 meters than 20. Hi Hi Good luck and lookin' forward to it.
