Wade, you would certainly be welcome. We are on the very east end of "sugar white beaches" (literally) of NW Florida. There are about 3 parks along the beaches. Probably the one you would like the best is St. Joseph State Park, out near Cape San Blas. We have MANY MANY Atlanta and N. Georgia folks coming here. Many own property here. Priscilla and I would love to give you and the wife our two-bit tour. If you are timed right, I'll take you to a Gulf ARS meeting. C'mon down ...

My son just called and said the tower climber is on for tomorrow, so maybe the link will be on tomorrow afternoon.

Good morning... My son and some other club members completed the link between our two 2-meter repeaters here in Gulf County yesterday. They are working well. A little tweeking will be required on the audio levels.

There are two 4 element beams aimed at each other, fed with heliax, both at 80 ft. We are able to run the two 220 MHz radios on low power (5 watts) with mostly full scale signals over our flat terrain. The yagis are positioned harizontally to attempt to avoid any interference from other stray signals. There is some sort of hash noise getting into one of the links, not sure what it is just yet. It makes it very nice to work from anywhere in the county and several miles outside the county on handhelds.

Have a great day and a good week all.
