Default The Hatfields & McCoys on The History Channel

A three part series began tonight on The History Channel. The Hatfields & McCoys airs Monday thru Wednesday evening at 8PM CT, with Kevin Costner. The first segment was very good. I enjoy Civil War era history, so this is right up my alley.

Well I guess no one liked my movie.... I think my post had 37 views and no responses. You don't know what you missed, it was a good flick.

Jim...

I don't have cable. But a guy at work has been following that and he says he's got relatives who are McCoys.

That's interesting Wade. One of the prosecutors I worked with for about 12 years (he just retired as County Judge) is related to the McCoys. He's from the Maryville, TN area originally.

That post about no responses was basically in jest. I caught just a few minutes on the History Channel yesterday where there were several historians, writers, professors and so on talking about how the flick was made. They gave the actual facts of "The Feud" with old photographs and other documentation. I would like to catch this part on again and record it. It was very interesting. The movie apparently did not stray too far from the actual facts. There was a lot more to it then just a feud between two families. It was lingering effects of the Civil War and a lot of politics involved between governors, etc... It was a mini Civil War in some respects. Very interesting.

The movie is out on DVD if anyone cares to look at Walmart.
