QSL From Cuba
I made contact with a ham in Cuba last night and he asked for a direct QSL. I want one from Cuba, but so far I never received a response from any of my previous attempts. I've included an IRC with each one. I get the impression that they are getting ripped off. Before I risk another IRC I wanted to see if anyone has ever gotten a QSL form Cuba.

When QSL'ing certain countries it is best not to put call signs in the addresses on the envelope. This is a notification that "Something valuable may be inside" and theiving postal workers will loot the envelope to get whatever (a dollar, an IRC) out of it.
But you knew that, right?
Can you get to Cuba via the QSL Buro?

Qsl
I have gotten mine direct and sent them back the same way.
But I'm sure the buro can and will do a good job.

I've made numerous QSO's to Cuba but have never asked for, nor have I ever received a QSL card from anyone there. I only received one QSL card last year. It was from the USA and had a SASE in it, so I made a card on-line and send him one. Not alot of hams do QSL cards anymore. I get about one per 200 QSO's. I dont send them out but will send one if I receive one.

My only Cuban contact so far had a QSL guy in, I think Spain. But I did get a card eventually.
Mail is permitted, don't know about US dollars - again, make envelope look innocouous.

That's why I try to encourage Cuban hams to use eQSLs. However, even though there are some registered with eQSL.cc and I have had QSOs with them, I still haven't gotten any confirmations from them (Cubans). Maybe they have web restrictions or something? And ergo the same thing may exist for direct QSLs. I also haven't gotten any Cuban confirmations using LOTW.

I haven't received a reponse to either of the two I've sent. My guess is that those guys try to keep as low a profile as possible. Maybe any foreign correspondence raises undesirable attention.
I keep waiting.

Well.. I was filing QSL cards I got this week
Yup, I got MY card from CUBA.. Worked him back in October IIRC and mailed the card within 5 days of the contact (10-7-2007) or else 7-10-2007, might have been 7-10 looking at the time, don't have the card in front of me) But they did send me back a card.
