THANKS, it was my pleasure to serve such a great nation. In my book the true heroes in this country are all out men and women who are serving our country, not any football, basketball, soccer, or baseball players unless of course if they are serving our counter too.

Well I must admit that during VietNam I did not volunteer, at least in the beginning anyway.
Drafted and served two, stayed another 4. Another time for sure. Insanity perhaps.
All that matters in the end is that we survive to tell good stories!
The kids today that serve do it for many reasons. At least they did not have pressures to enlist to avoid the draft like many did in my era.

If you liked the Christmas top of page banner that was up for ORR.net then you military folks are going to fall right over when you see the banners we have in store for veterans day and memorial day. They'll be up about 10 days prior to each holiday. You're gonna love it!

The least we can do to recognize those who served.

I did 6 years in the Navy myself, '73 - '79. My son and son-in-law are currently in the Navy, with my son preparing to depart in March for a 6-month Persian Gulf deployment.

My oldest son served 6 years in the Air Force. He now works civil service, but is serving in the guard. I have never served, myself, but the recruiters wouldn't even talk to me when they found out I took Insulin. I think they said I was 4-F.

I definitely owe a debt of grattitude to those serving and those who have served.

It is a wierd small world. I met a fellow in a Flagstaff campground that retired from the same unit I was in (USAF 607TCTS). We weren't there at the same time but considering how small the unit was it was quite a coincidence.

My son joined the Army in August and thinks they will deploy next January.

Your welcome.....a lot people take for granted what vetrans have done for this country.

I am not saying I did anything special but don't forget the Pearl Harbor Survivors, and all of the surviving, POWs of WWII, KOREA, VIET NAM...they are becoming few and far between.

I was in USAF from '66' to '71'. Stationed at Vandenberg, special duty only.Missiles/SLV's. The real hero's are the ones who had to carry the rifles in my book. I just pushed buttons.
