Puzzle - what is this?
This thing is real. It exsists. I designed it. A friend made one for me and it works great! What is it?

It's used to make toast over a gas burner.

Nope. Guess you could build a fire under it and use it for a grill, but it's not made to cook on.

Boy, a few hints would help - materials and size for starters and construction method.
I'm guessing it's some sort of step.

Like an extra step that fits under the RV pullout steps? I don't know, it's got a hook so maybe it hangs somehow?

It wouldn't make a good step, the sides wound push into the ground. But I guess you could hang it up on something when not using it. Just don't walk into it.
(WHAAANNGG!) Ouch!

Why is this puzzle in the tow vehicles section of the forum? Maybe that has something to do with it. Hmmm........ looks like it could hang from the rear ladder? How about 20 questions?

It is to catch hot toast that is ejected from a horizontal electric toaster....The black is so that you can also use it to keep the toast warm using solar energy.
