Noise Question
I have a 2015 Forest River Wildwood 33ft., I have the Tarhell mount welded to the frame coming out the rear so that the antenna is about 2ft from the camper as it is aluminum sided. The problem is that when the antenna is tuned for resonance, there is a very loud noise that changes in pitch, it overwhelms the signals so that you can barely hear anyone unless they have a large signal, it does this on most bands and louder on 40/75m. I thinking the noise coming from the inverter??? Suggestions. BTW...the rig is Yaesu FT-857d.

Could be the inverter, or the converter (you may have both). Easy to find out; shut off the converter and inverter, run the radio from battery or shore power, and listen.

Get your little AM radio out and start snooping around.

Yeah start turning things off one at a time I have LED's that wipes out my FM radio and my converter/charger is pretty noisy on 10 meters. I use a screw driver on the back of my aluminum sided camper and don't really have any noise issues except on 10 meters. How are all your grounds? I grounded the metal mast on mine to both the frame and the aluminum siding.

The converters will drive a short wave radio batty. Disconnect the converter and see how it goes.
